Ryan P. Bogan Named Chief Operating Officer

Promotion Effective July 11, 2011

ST. LOUIS, July 12, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LMI Aerospace, Inc. (Nasdaq:LMIA), a leading provider of design engineering services, structural assemblies, kits and components to the aerospace, defense and technology markets, announced today that effective July 11, 2011, Ryan P. Bogan assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer of LMI. Mr. Bogan was previously Chief Executive Officer of D3 Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of LMI. Mr. Bogan will relocate to LMI's corporate offices in St. Charles, Missouri, and will report to LMI's Chief Executive Officer Ron Saks.

In his new position, Mr. Bogan will oversee the operations of both the Aerostructures and Engineering Services segments while managing the organization and execution of LMI's design and build strategy.

After joining D3 Technologies in 1998, Mr. Bogan was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2000 and President and Chief Executive Officer in 2002. He retained those positions when D3 Technologies was acquired by LMI in July 2007.

Richard Johnson assumed the role of President of D3 Technologies in November 2010. Mr. Bogan remained Chief Executive Officer of D3 Technologies while on sabbatical until July 2011 as he completed his Global Executive MBA from TRIUM, based in New York, London and Paris.

Mr. Bogan earned a BA in Economics, Environment, and Politics from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California, in 1997. In addition, he completed the Executive Program for Fast Growing Companies from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, in 2008.
